What is the Net Reporter Score (NRS)?

Overview

The Net Reporter Score or NRS is a metric used by Hook Security to measure the susceptibility to a phishing attack of targets in a group, campaign, test, or an individual target at a glance. NRS is computed every time an action is taken on an email or landing page during a phishing test.

The NRS will appear in the summary section of a report, as pictured below.

NRS can also be viewed on the test, campaigns, groups, and target details pages.

Calculating NRS

The equation used to compute the NRS is as follows:

Where  is the number of emails reported,  is the number of failures, and  is the total number of emails received.

Thus, for a given unit (test, target, group, campaign), a negative NRS indicates more emails were failed than reported, a positive NRS indicates more emails were reported than failed.

HookMail & NRS

The Net Reporter Score is tied to the utilization of the HookMail Add-in to Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Outlook. 

If your organization does not currently deploy the HookMail Add-in, then NRS will be disabled in all reporting. 

If NRS is disabled, it will be replaced by the Action Timeline chart.
